The area of Newport Beach which is East of Irvine Ave, West of the Back Bay and North of East 17th Street / Westcliff Avenue are the communities of Westcliff and Dover Shores. These adjacent communities share the same common area in the West Bay area of Newport Beach, California. The area was originally developed in the 1950’s and while many of these original homes still exist, the area has seen a huge surge in new construction and remodeled / expansion of existing properties. Dover Shores area occupies the land closest to the Newport Bay and is where you will find multi-million dollar water front homes. Not all homes in this area will be on the water front but the homes will have access to the private beach areas in Dover Shores.
The homes and lots in Westcliff tend to be smaller then those of Dover Shores yet both communities are with in the boundaries of Mariner’s Elementary School and convenient to Mariners Park & Library that is a central gathering place for those who live here. The Westcliff Plaza as well as the shopping and dining on East 17th Street is within walking distance.
